Post Modern Principle

Carrying on from the last project of essential question I finally finished my painting of downtown Apex. It just worked out that it fit the next project of Post Modern Principle as Artist Steal.  I stole the painting technique of Van Gogh's Starry Night but instead painted downtown Apex. It only took a little over a month but in the end I'm so happy with how this turned out in the end.

  1. It looks like you really rushed with this piece and took no time. I think it would be cool if it took you a little bit more time... good try... Zoe

  2. I did a similar piece in art II, if you try to imitate Van Gogh in the future, I recommend partly blending some of the stroaks. You did well for as long as you took, but as it stands it looks a bit like a paint by number. Props for patience though!! -Joanna Clark

  4. I love this piece so much! The technique is really good and I love how you brought a local interpretation of a piece that is so well known world wide. I think you did a really good job capturing depth and perspective and I like the contrasting colors.

  5. Your piece is GORGEOUS!! You adopted the style of Van Gogh without making it repetitive and you were able to give it a modern touch. You had propped your painting up behind our table, and it was beautiful to look at everyday! I love how the individual contrasting colors come together in such a cohesive way! - Anam
